WHAT IS STEALTH ACOUSTICS
Back in the Day…
Listening to your favorite music anywhere in the house was a dream shared by many people. In the past, this has meant cutting holes in walls or ceilings and installing speakers. In the early days, in-wall and in-ceiling speakers were little more than car stereo speakers. As you can imagine, the look was anything but clean. Soon, speaker makers began to offer white frames that sat fairly flush in the wall*. However, we could hardly call these invisible. Recently, so called non-bezel speakers have become popular*. The innovation here was making the bezel small enough to almost disappear—unfortunately, the grille was still quite visible. Clever installers learned to paint speaker bezels and grilles to match the wall or wallpaper*. Still, the result was still not invisible.
Enter Stealth Acoustics
Fortunately, the folks at Stealth Acoustics had a better idea. Starting in 2008, they produced the first high fidelity invisible speakers and they have been refining their designs ever since. Today’s Stealth Acoustic speakers rival the sound of the finest box speakers and they are totally invisible. Since these engineering marvels are taped and spackled into the wall, they can be painted, wallpapered, glazed or frescoed without affecting their sound.
AUDIO SHOULD BE INVISIBLE
VIDEO SHOULD BE MEGALITH!
WHY INVISIBLE SPEAKERS
It is no secret that designers are not big fans of technology! Large rectangles puncturing walls and extra circles in the ceiling can be difficult to reconcile with artistic sensibilities. While in-wall speakers are usually more acceptable than box loudspeakers, there are never any objections to invisible. Finally, you can have your cake and eat it too!
Stealth Acoustics’ invisibility offers a powerful advantage over traditional loudspeakers because they can be placed wherever they sound best, free of visual concerns that may conflict with architectural features. The Stealth Acoustics invisible speakers are designed to be installed into standard wall or ceiling constructions with many on-site finishing options that include paint, light wallpaper, fabrics, wood veneers, vinyl graphics and selected texture coats. There is no need for non-standard wallboard finishing materials. Installation instructions are shown on a paper overlay that is to be removed before installation. The overlay can also be used as a cutting template for retrofitting the speakers into existing wallboard. Unique mounting and advanced finishing methods may be accomplished using special techniques.
Creating a truly environmental speaker that can take on nature’s toughest elements is no easy task. The StingRay speaker family is completely sealed with no exposed grills or drivers to corrode or break down. The SR6, SR8, or SR430 are at home in nearly any outdoor environment where ultimate durability and performance are desired. The StingRay line of outdoor speakers are offered in matte black or matte white. The StingRay family can also be special ordered custom painted to match any décor. To offer a completely unique finish option, select the Image Wrap version to have an actual photograph of the speaker’s surroundings or even artwork laminated directly to the face of the speaker.
